Research and Planning - Analysis of Music Magazin Double Page Spread

Target Audience: young, teenage girls

Mode of Address - The mode of address used is definitely chatty and informal, which relates effectively to the target audience as it makes it fun and easy to read. The diction used is fun and light-hearted which reflects the morals of the magazine.

Layout - 4 Columns of text have been used, a generic feature of pop magazine interviews. The interview is also set out in a question and answer format, this has been done to make it easy to read and straight to the point. The ratio of text to pictures is 50/50 as an image takes up one whole page, and the other has text.

Images - The image also bleeds onto the next page, a white background which connotes freshness and youthfulness. The image is a Mid-Close Up shot and is in colour. The artists John Newman is shown to be looking directly into the camera, almost as if he is looking directly to the reader, this draws their attention and makes them feel involved.
